Conduit Workforce CIC
Our service is free to use – no cost to Councils, HCA, Developers, Contractors or Subcontractors – yes, a free service.
We pride ourselves in offering a cross-section of society the potential of work on construction sites and the future of a long term employment opportunity in the local area. If a local person meets all the criteria of the role, then why wouldn’t they be preferred for employment. Once employed, their skills will increase and make them more employable long term. Sounds simple – with our experience, we believe it is!
The governments believe it too as if you wanted their view, Section 106 of The Town & Country Planning Act, 1990 [twice revised], has at it’s core the ethos of hiring up to 20% of all [construction] workers from the local vicinity. Local jobs for local workers would tangibly enhance our indigenous environment and infrastructure, while offering an improved economy as locals tend to spend locally!
In the background : Construction industry quote: "Skills gap? What skills gap? There is a unlimited supply of a low-cost, skilled transient workforce"
Our goal is to show the decision makers in Construction a no-cost way of employing local people – and demonstrating the benefits of employing local people and apprentices on regeneration and the South East Plan. Regeneration and the South East Plan is an important vehicle to deliver jobs and training for local people for sustainable employment - a greater skilled local workforce.
The Construction Industry has signed up to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) (read more) and we have the solution to optimise this resolve – practically and simply at a local level.
